The CARS section is challenging for a lot of Thai MCAT students. We have had numerous inquiries regarding how to learn CARS and to answer honestly, and also from the POV of a CARS tutor, it is to do as many papers as possible with the correct foundational skills already perfected. One of the best ways to prepare for this section is to practice reading.
1. Learn to read in academic English, especially texts from humanities and the social sciences. It'll help you gain reading skills and expand your vocabulary.
2. Practice active reading, either for leisure or MCAT prep, always highlight key words, summarise points, raise questions and ask questions beyond texts (e.g. Who wrote it and who is the audience? Why do you think it was written?)
Remember, CARS is one whole paper, therefore, it makes up one whole part of your total MCAT score.
And the reading skills gained in CARS can be applied to ALL papers. We believe in you!
